Niagara Falls

We took a day trip from Toronto to see the Niagara falls and the surroundings.
We arrived there already early in the morning. At summer time the place must be packed with tourists but this time of the year with this freezing weather it was very quiet, and did I already say freezing?
Last year this part of the falls was totally frozen because of recordly cold weather and it is getting close to that this year too.

Also part of the big horseshoe fall is frozen and because of the mist it was hard to see even the parts that are still running. In a way it was beautiful and unique to see this place at winter but I would like to come back at spring time too to fully see them.

After seeing the falls we headed to Niagara on the lake for lunch. Mom is happy after her stone oven baked pizza and a beer.
Before heading back to Toronto we visited a big vineyard. Canada is big ice wine producer and we got to taste four different kinds for free.
This fellow only has grape juice in his class.

When making ice wine the grapes are left to freeze until late january before they are picked up. The taste is very sweet, a great dessert wine.
